BROOKLYN, Mich. (AP) — The Latest on the NASCAR Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway (all times EDT):

6:05 p.m.

Joey Logano led most of the way and won the first stage of NASCAR’s Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway.

Logano, the pole winner, held off Alex Bowman for his sixth stage victory of the season, breaking a tie with Kyle Busch for the most of any driver. There was one competition caution, but aside from that, there were no cautions before the end of the stage.

Denny Hamlin and Aric Almirola both led briefly, but it’s has been mostly Logano out front. Kurt Busch and Erik Jones have also been among the leaders.

Kevin Harvick, who started in the second row, had to pit near the end of the stage with a loose wheel.
